Even Robert Pattinson Can't Compete With Edward Cullen's 'Unrealistic' Appeal!

Twilight's Edward Cullen is apparently bad news for men – even Robert Pattinson.

According to an Australian film expert, the brooding vampire is giving women unrealistic expectations of men.

"They're idealising Edward to the point where real men can't compete anymore," Dr Lisa Bode of the University of Queensland tells Britain's OK! magazine.

"It's a kind of performative thing, an empowering gesture."

She adds: "If you consider the way that women have had to put up with men's ideals for centuries and feeling insecure in relation to that, there's perhaps a little bit of revenge coming through."

And Rob himself would probably agree.

The humble heartthrob reckons fans have confused him with the character he plays in the vampire saga.

He said recently: "People just project their idea of my character on to me and they just seem to assume that I’m the same, when in reality I’m not.”
