New Moon Soundtrack goes PLATINUM

If you happen to be one of the many, manyTwilight saga fans who purchased the awesome soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: New Moon (the reviews of which were, unlike the film itself, evenly positive across the critical board) and watched it rise to the top of the Billboard 200 chart shortly after its release, you might not be surprised to hear that it has now been certified platinum.

According to the Associated Press, The Twilight Saga: New Moon's soundtrack was certified platinum "for exceeding sales of 1 million units."

The album, which sold more than 93,000 copies during its sixth week on the market, is still at number eight on the chart.

Given the success of the New Moon juggernaut, as one of the soundtrack artists appropriately called it, it is no surprise that the album received this certification.
