K.Stew Costar Melissa Leo: "She's Been Very Clever"

When we ran into Melissa Leo at the L.A. Film Festival, we not only wanted the dirt onChristian Bale, but on Kristen Stewart, too, obviously.

Melissa recently worked with Kristen inWelcome to the Rileys as well as The Cake Eaters, and she said she got to know K.Stew very well.

"There's a reason [Kristen] is so big and up and coming," dished the talented Miss Leo. "She's first and foremost a very smart young lady. She has actually built a career for herself by the choices she's made."

Twilight seemed to be a pretty smart move…
"Kristen's actually had a lot more opportunities to work than she has in fact worked. She's been very clever about it. And she's remarkable. I played a mom figure for her and feel that bond in real life, also."

Did Kristen need any motherly advice about her boy Rob Pattinson?

Melissa laughed, giving a very knowing smile. "Oh..." she said, trying to dodge the question.

Well, she must have mentioned Rob!
"Only
great things."

Isn't that just presh? We'd love to be a fly on the wall to hear how Kristen talks about her main man in private. Just because she and Rob aren't physically together right now doesn't mean she still isn't saying great things about him—despite what other goss sites are saying.

Seriously, is Rob supposed to live in a cave while he's over in NYC? Just because he's going outnightly (Pattz has always been a partier, pre-Kristen) doesn't mean he's shacking up with every girl he talks to. Ditto for K.Stew.

Let's lighten up and let them enjoy their summer! It's rough enough that they don't have each other to lean on right now while they deal with the constant paparazzi attention.

Lo sé, pero siguiendo con la necesidad de drogaína me he encontrado con esto y no lo he podido evitar. Una voz sensata en el desierto de los tabloides-web!
